East Asian Studies and Research (MA) – Now Available

Launched in October 2024, the Master’s program “East Asian Studies and Research” at Babeș-Bolyai University offers a research-focused, interdisciplinary approach to East Asian languages, literatures, and cultures. Developed as a collaboration between the university’s faculty specializing in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese studies, this two-year program provides students with advanced academic training in the field.

The curriculum includes advanced Korean language courses (4–5 hours per week each semester), alongside specialized courses in Korean culture and literature (2–3 hours per week each semester). Students also explore Japanese and Chinese culture, gaining a comprehensive understanding of East Asia.
